Iran burned New Testments !

Yousef Nadarkhani was called to Lakan prison on Christmas day and is expected to remain there for the New Year. The reports say he was summoned to prison to serve 45 days remaining from an earlier three year sentence.

According to Mohabat News, Human Rights activists in Iran reported that on December 25, 2012, Yousef Nadarkhani reported to Lakan prison in Rasht to serve the rest of his sentence issued in 2006 by the Revolutionary Court, while his case was still open.

Mr. Nadarkhani had been found guilty of actions against national security in 2006 and was sentenced to three years in prison. Considering the time he has already spent in detention for other charges for which he was acquitted, he must still serve another 45 days in prison.

Thus, after receiving a summons from the Office of Enforcement, he reported to Lakan prison, where he was arrested and admitted to the prison.

Prior to this, some media reported that Yousef Nadarkhani had been arrested and transferred to Lakan prison on December 22, 2012 following an attack by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence.

It needs to be pointed out though, that Yousef Nadarkhani had been sentenced to death for apostasy, after being held in prison for a long period of time. However, his sentence was annulled on December 8, 2012, as a result of international pressure and an outcry by Human Rights activists and western powers, including the U.S.A. and Europe.

Yousef Nadarkhani, who belongs to a non-Trinitarian denomination known as the "Church of Iran", was arrested in October 2009, for leaving Islam and spreading his faith among Muslims.

Also, Behnam Irani, another member of the non-Trinitarian group, is still being held in the Central Prison of Karaj.

Human Rights activists in Iran have pleaded with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and other international organizations to get involved in Nadarkhani's case and make every effort to secure his release and put an end to pressures on religious minorities in Iran.
